Digital Radiography

Digital radiography has become an extremely effective and essential diagnostic tool for veterinarians because it is painless, safe, non-invasive, and it provides information about the internal body systems and the skeletal system quickly and efficiently.

At George County Veterinary Clinic in Lucedale, Mississippi, our in-house digital radiography capability enables our veterinarians to assess the status of injuries or diseases that may be affecting your pet. The images produced through this process help our doctors to diagnose fractures, locate objects your pet may have swallowed, detect masses such as tumors, measure organ size for abnormalities, diagnose pneumonia, discover pregnancies, bladder stones, chronic arthritis, and some spinal cord diseases.

Using very low doses of radiation, digital radiography provides images much faster, with greater clarity than traditional x-rays, and without the need for numerous retakes. Digital images can be manipulated, enhanced, and contrasted, allowing our doctors to diagnose a condition quickly and accurately. Additionally, the digital images may be shared instantly with board certified veterinary radiologists for consultation if required.
